Ship Management Software by GL for Held

August 16, 2012

German shipping company Held chooses GL Shipmanager System for its technical ship services division.

The GL ShipManager software facilitates maintenance activities, supports quality and safety management processes and simplifies data and information management. Intelligent data synchronization between office and ship ensures that the same information is available onboard and onshore.

The software will be installed in their Haren office and on all vessels.

Held's ship management fleet has grown over the last years and today, it comprises 30 vessels, most of which are multi-purpose vessels, but also mini bulkers and container vessels are technically managed by the company.

To keep up with the times, the Haren, Germany, based ship manager has always sought innovative ways to deploy their strength in challenging markets. Thus, they committed to share technical ship management know-how with thier partners in the shipping industry to help bring profitability to investors even in troublesome economic times.

“As cost awareness and service combined with environmental protection has always been high on the agenda, we were looking for an integrated software solution that fulfils our company’s internal requirements while managing our operational key processes more efficiently” comments Bernhard Held (Managing Director).
