Ed Timmes Joins General Dynamics

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems today announced that Edward A. Timmes, Jr., has joined the company as vice president of its Intelligence Systems business in its Cyber Systems division.

 

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). Timmes will lead an organization focused on providing customers, partners and teammates with innovative solutions designed to harden systems, reduce vulnerabilities and defend against cyber attacks. Core capabilities include data acquisition and analysis, systems integration and analysis, cyber situational awareness and real-time analytics. Additionally, the Intelligence Systems business offers digital forensics, network incident response and remediation capabilities to commercial customers as they protect and defend their enterprises from sophisticated cyber threats. “I am pleased that Ed has joined General Dynamics,” said John Jolly, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems’ Cyber Systems division. “His record of unwavering customer advocacy and strong performance will enhance our support to our customers as they execute missions in real-time.”

 

Timmes joins General Dynamics from Science Applications International Corporation. He serves on the board of directors for the Central Maryland Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics. He received a master’s of business administration from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Md., and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga.
