KR Authorized to Deliver Statutory Services to Oman

Korean Register (KR), an IACS member classification society, announced today that it has been fully authorized by the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the Sultanate of Oman to deliver statutory services on behalf of the Oman government.

The Oman authorities have also authorized LR and BV alongside KR, allowing each society to perform statutory services on the government’s behalf.

Within Oman, KR is now able to conduct relevant surveys, audits and issue certificates to Oman flagged ships for SOLAS, MARPOL, ITC, ILL, ISM Code, ISPS Code, and MLC.

Jung Young-jun, KR’s Executive Vice President and acting Chairman & CEO said that with the stamp of approval from the Oman government, KR is now authorized by 66 countries to deliver statutory services.
