Rhothetha Shows SAR, Tracking Solutions in Brazil

Rhothetha, with headquarters in Murnau, Germany and sales and service centers in Utah and Florida, will be exhibiting at LAAD 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The company provides Search & Rescue (SAR) and Tracking solutions, and specializes in the development, manufacture, and integration of professional products for ATC, SAR, COSPAS‐SARSAT, VTS, Surveillance, and Tracking of RF transmitters in general. Rhothetha products are installed in special mission aircraft, helicopters, boats, vehicles and towers worldwide.

In addition to tracking SAR, Man‐over‐board (MOB) and person in the water (PIW) radio beacons, Rhothetha’s state-of-the-art radio direction finders can track theft recovery and tactical covert transmitters. Operational frequencies are available for: VHF Air, Marine, UHF Air, Amateur Radio, Law Enforcement and all COSPAS‐SARSAT 406 MHz channels.

“Air force, Army, Navy and Coast Guard units in countries around the world use RHOTHETA radio direction finders and we expect to demonstrate our advantages to the Brazilian Navy at LAAD” said Ventura Rigol, of Rhothetha.

Rhothetha has teamed up with leading system integrators to deliver turnkey solutions for ATC, SAR, Value/Asset Tracking, VTS, Coastal Surveillance and DF Towers. Partnering with Transas and other Vessel Traffic System (VTS) integrators Rhothetha has delivered radio direction finder solutions for VTS installations in Malta, Cyprus, Spain, Morocco, Ukraine, Algeria, China, Italy, UK, Latvia, and Finland. It is currently developing new technology for VTS, including the ability to use Ethernet LAN to transmit VTS information from coastal surveillance centers to other locations.

Rhothetha’s latest success has been the integration of its RT‐600 (SAR‐DF 517) airborne direction finder with Oxnard CA‐based Aerocomputers UltiChart 5100 moving map system. This package offers a combination of tools to aid in search and rescue of persons/aircraft/vehicles/vessels, while featuring easy, intuitive controls, greatly reducing a tactical flight officers (TFO) workload, and enhancing situational awareness.
