Ramora UK Wins Underwater Ordnance Disposal Contract

September 6, 2011

Ramora UK (www.ramorauk.com) a provider of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training and support services, has signed a three-year deal with Kendall Brothers (Portsmouth) Limited (www.kendalls.co.uk) a UK aggregate producer.
The contract with Kendall Brothers (Portsmouth) Limited provides the aggregate firm with a comprehensive EOD response service (which includes ordnance disposal and training services) to deal with the discovery of Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) within aggregate materials.
Kendall Brothers (Portsmouth) Limited operates two aggregate processing plants and a bagging operation in the UK and harvests materials from the sea.
Following the introduction of the best practice guidance document for the dealing with munitions in marine aggregates, Kendall Brothers recognised the importance of ensuring the correct processes were in place and identified Ramora UK as a compliant and appropriate solution. Kendall Brothers were quick to identify the benefits of a commercial EOD solution and they remain one of the foremost aggregate producers in this regard.
The firm originally contacted Ramora UK through the 24/7 Emergency Response line when an item was discovered and identified as UXO.  Advice was given and one of the Ramora UK’s EOD unit dispatched.
As a result of that experience, Ramora UK experts established with Kendall Brothers (Portsmouth) Limited policies and procedures so that in the event of discovering UXO, the most efficient and safest course of action will be taken every time with minimum impact on commercial operations.
