Since June 2016, the Singaporean shipping line Pacific International Lines (PIL) has marketed a weekly containerised service (20’/40’/40’HC and reefer) from HAROPA - Port of Le Havre and bound for the South Pacific area. The service notably makes stops in Australia, New Zealand, Papua-New-Guinea, the Vanuatu archipelago, the Guam, Fiji, Hawaii, Wallis and Futuna, Tonga, Samoa and Marshall islands.
“For the last 50 years, Pacific International Lines have developed a wide network, especially in Asia and Oceania, Christophe Buisson, managing director of SEALOGIS group, stated. It ranks among the top 20 leading shipping lines in terms of transport capacity and is to-date the 4th world biggest shipping line as regards the number of vessels they own”.
For Hervé Cornède, commercial and marketing director of HAROPA, “the arrival of the Asian ‘giant’ and setting-up of this new service complete the offer of HAROPA which serves more than
600 ports in the world, showing competitive transit times; this, as a whole, opens wide development perspectives on the South Pacific area”.
