March 8, 2010

Technical service provider for the oil and gas industry GL Noble Denton has opened an office in Port of Spain. With upstream and midstream capabilities across the complete asset lifecycle, GL Noble Denton already provides international oil majors, independent operators and E&C companies in the region with technical design, consulting, assurance and execution services.

Trinidad's economy is strongly influenced by the petroleum industry. Trinidad is the leading Caribbean producer of oil and gas; petroleum, petrochemicals and natural gas continue to be the backbone of the economy. In 2008, the country produced 165,420 barrels per day (bbl/d) of total oil production, of which 114,280 bbl/d was crude oil, the remainder mostly consisting of natural gas liquids (NGLs). Drilling depths have reached up to 7,000 m (23,000ft), while exploration continues to venture into water depths in excess of 150 m (500ft).
