SatCom provider Intelsat S.A. announce James Collett has joined the company as Director of Mobility Services Product Management.

Based in Intelsat’s London office, Collett will be responsible for advancing Intelsat’s mobility product line and furthering the company’s leadership role in providing managed services and space-only solutions to the aeronautical, maritime and government sectors.

Collett has more than 25 years of industry experience, including 13 years at Inmarsat, where most recently he was Senior Director of Maritime Business. In this role, he led Inmarsat’s global maritime wholesale efforts, focused on service development and collaboration with strategic partners.

“James’ leadership skills and thorough understanding of the mobility sector will greatly benefit our organization,” said Intelsat SVP of Product and Asset Management Mike DeMarco.  “We look forward to his valuable contributions as we prepare to complete our global broadband mobility platform in early 2013.”

Intelsat’s 2011-2013 launch program deploys a global broadband mobility platform for serving the aeronautical and maritime sectors. In June, Intelsat announced the Intelsat EpicNG satellite platform, which will provide high performance satellite communications infrastructure for a number of fixed and mobile communications applications.
