McDermott Wins Contract in Arabian Gulf

McDermott International Inc. received three separate engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) projects in multiple Arabian Gulf fields. The EPCI contracts were given by a major national oil company;  In addition to this, there has also been an award of an additional scope on an existing contract, also being executed in the Arabian Gulf. Combined, these projects’ total scope includes EPCI for jackets and topsides, subsea pipelines and subsea cables. Work on the projects is expected to be executed through the fourth quarter of 2017.

Danos announces the hiring of Marc Distefano, John Danos and Jack Roszelle to leadership positions with the company. “We welcome Marc, John and Jack to the Danos team,” said CEO and President Hank Danos. McDermott Installs Mooring Tower off Indonesia

McDermott International, Inc. has successfully concluded the transportation and installation of a Yoke-type Single Point Mooring tower and hook up to a Floating Storage Offloading (“FSO”) vessel for PT Rekayasa Industri offshore Indonesia in the Banyu Urip field. PT Rekayasa Industri was appointed by Mobil Cepu Limited, an ExxonMobil subsidiary, as one of the engineering, procurement, construction and installation contractors for the field. “PT Rekayasa Industri awarded the contract to McDermott earlier this year,” said Hugh Cuthbertson, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific.

Maritime Mergers and Acquisitions: Oil & Gas to the Forefront

Maritime oil and gas business segments have exhibited mixed results in the past 12 months. In the United States, offshore business is slowly recovering from the devastating Macondo spill that resulted in an exodus of drilling assets to foreign shores. Service and equipment providers are showing cautious optimism as the number of drill rigs under contract has risen substantially, along with day rates. In this report, Figure 1 shows the recovery in the active Gulf of Mexico rig count to pre-Macondo levels, with the point of the accident circled in green.

A McDermott International subsidiary has been awarded two projects valued at approximately US$ 900-million. McDermott International inks contract with Keppel Offshore & Marine for construction of a dynamically-positioned combination S-Lay vessel with a 2,000-ton crane. The vessel, tentatively named Derrick Lay Vessel 2000 (“DLV2000”), will be constructed at Keppel Singmarine in Singapore and is expected to take approx 2.5 years to build. “DLV2000 is expected to address a market demand we consider to be extremely robust for deepwater pipelines as well as our traditional markets,” said Stephen M. McDermott awarded Gulf of Mexico Spar hull installation contract for Williams Partners. McDermott International, Inc. announce that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a contract by Williams Partners L.P. for transportation and installation services for a Spar hull in the Gulf of Mexico. McDermott will transport and install the Gulfstar FPS GS-1 Spar hull and moorings. Located approximately 150 miles offshore, the Spar platform is destined for the Gulf of Mexico’s Mississippi Canyon and will sit in approximately 4,200 feet of water.
