Karin Orsel, President and CEO of MF Shipping Group, will be the keynote speaker at WISTA USA’s tenth annual luncheon, kicking off the Connecticut Maritime Association’s Shipping 2015 conference. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 on March 23rd in Ballroom II of the Hilton Stamford.

“We are pleased that Karin Orsel will be sharing her experiences as a business owner and thought leader in the maritime industry,” stated WISTA USA President and Total Marine Solutions owner/founder Alexandra Anagnostis-Irons. “Karin has been a vocal proponent internationally of multicultural and diverse management teams for companies in the shipping and related industries, as she advises they perform better, have a broader long-term view, and are more profitable.”

Karin leads MF Shipping Group, operator of a fleet of 55 product oil, chemical tankers and dry cargo vessels, including self unloaders, that operate around the world.

In 2009, Karin was honored with the Dutch "Female Entrepreneurship Award of the Year." She currently serves as Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), on the Board of the Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners, where she is Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee, and participates on the Boards of several international shipping companies. Karin also serves as President of WISTA International.

Reservations to attend the WISTA USA luncheon may be made by contacting Marlene Boyer of BLT Chembulk at [email protected].
