Potential Tognum Apprentices Get to the Show Workbench

March 15, 2013

At the 2013 IBO exhibition, Tognum, & subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen present glimpse of technical training possibilities to young visitors.

MTU Friedrichshafen will be giving visitors a glimpse of the wide range of vocational training the company has on offer. In Hall A3, Stand 300, trainees will be presenting the opportunities available at entry level at Tognum – from mechatronics to marketing and from apprenticeships to courses of dual university and practical study.

Whilst trainees explain the most important aspects of jobs in the commercial sphere and set visitors typical trainee tasks to solve, industrial mechanics will be on hand offering the chance to drill and assemble various pieces at the workbenches. School students who register at the IBO Information Stand to take part in the `Educational Initiative – Experience Training´, will be able to assemble and test their own mini-diesel engine. And electronics trainees will be using a series-production model to demonstrate the complexities of the control system for an automated plant.

“The choice of a career is often difficult for young people. We are offering school students and their parents the chance to actively experience different vocational areas in order to form an initial impression of training at Tognum,” explained Martin Stocker, head of training at Tognum.

In a specially constructed cinema, a new film will provide an insight into the world of training at Tognum. Those who pay particularly close attention to the film will have the chance to take part in a quiz and possibly win an Apple iPad mini.
