Lamprell Wins Daman Corporate Health Award

November 12, 2014

Lamprell (ticker: LAM), a leading provider of diversified engineering and contracting services to the onshore and offshore energy industry is delighted to announce that, last Wednesday 5 November, the Group was declared as a winner at the Daman Corporate Health Awards which took place at the Rosewood Hotel, Abu Dhabi. In total, 47 companies were shortlisted for the finals in 12 different categories. Lamprell won the award for the ‘Improved Corporate Health and Wellness Performance’ category.

Lamprell introduced several reforms and innovations that improved overall wellness performance across the organisation, including conducting regular health checks, running various health and safety awareness campaigns as well as organising team-building activities and sports events. The Company enjoyed reductions in its insurance claims ratio earlier this year and chose to invest some of those savings in employee wellness initiatives.

Commenting on the delivery, John Macdonald, Vice-President Human Resources & Administration for the Lamprell group, said:“The shortlists for the 12 categories included some of the leading companies in the UAE such as ENOC, Etisalat, Schlumberger Middle East, Dubai Holdings, WS Atkins and Dubai Airports.  Our overall commitment to improving workplace health and safety and, in particular, our vast improvements in the area of heat stress management, which particularly impressed the judges, helped us win this award and we are extremely proud of this achievement.”
