A new novel, The Golden Tide, written by global shipping industry insider John Guy, is now available on Amazon as a paperback and ebook for Kindle. The fast-moving book is easy to read and puts a well-informed and human context on what happens when a coastal community confronts an oil spill.

About the book
Green activist Simone struggles with her beliefs when she meets journalist Michiel, who shows her how an oil spill threatening Sicily is a bonanza for many locals. Compensation and clean-up money floods into the community, creating conflicts between politicians, the oil company, environmentalists and locals. Simone and Michiel fight to save the coastline, putting them into a tense and dangerous confrontation with powerful forces which have a different agenda.

The 320-page book is available through Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and local Amazon sites as a paperback or a Kindle e book.

About the author
John Guy served on merchant ships and warships for sixteen years before becoming a ship inspector and then a journalist. For twenty years he has been advising companies and organisations working in the global shipping industry on media and crisis management. This is his second novel.
