Vietnamese Fishing Vessel Apprehended for Poaching

 A Vietnamese fishing vessel was apprehended by the joint team of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) for illegal fishing/poaching in Zambales last Monday, April 28.



Based on reports, the team sighted the actual fishing operation and hauling of fishing gears of the Vietnamese ship registered as "BD 96281 T5" 16 nautical miles off the port of Silanguin in Subic, Zambales.
 


Even while conducting control and surveillance at the area, the team of MCS 3008 and MCS 1103 immediately launched a rubber boat with PCG and BFAR personnel onboard to conduct routine inspection of pertinent documents, license and nationality of the subject ship's crew.



During the inspection, the team found out that the fishing vessel was owned by a certain Pham Minh Ouoc with address at Bing, Vietnam. It is manned by seven crew onboard.
