SpecTec Launches AMOS Mobile

June 23, 2011

SpecTec has launched a new product within the AMOS Business Suite: AMOS Mobile, a handheld-device software providing the ability to record transactions remotely, and upload those transactions right into AMOS.  AMOS Mobile users can record inventory updates, create work requests, and update values for counter readings and measurement points during their normal rounds.

The latest AMOS Mobile release is comprised of two business modules: Inventory and Maintenance. On the device, a Sybase database called the Remote Database contains all data entered by the user and all data copied from the AMOS Business Suite database. In addition to performing inventory control, measure point updates, counter updates and work requisitions, the user can configure communication between the mobile device and the PC. AMOS Mobile users can also choose the preferred language for use in the software: Chinese, English, German, Italian, Norwegian or Swedish.
AMOS Mobile also takes advantage of the built-in camera some devices come with. When a user creates a work requisition, he/she can take photos with the device and attach these images to the work order. The resolution and quality of the picture taken depends on the device’s capabilities.

AMOS Mobile runs on a mobile device preloaded with the Windows Mobile operating system.
