Radio Holland, part of Imtech Marine, has concluded a service agreement with leading tanker, gas and offshore maritime group BW Fleet Management (BWFM). The two-year agreement covers all the navigation and communication equipment onboard 13 LPG vessels. Radio Holland also provides remote support for these vessels. This week Radio Holland is present at the Nor-Shipping event in Oslo (Norway) at booth B02-36.
BWFM has technical responsibility for more than 50 vessels including Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), Long Range 1 product tankers (LR 1s), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carriers.
Imtech Marine’s Radio Holland brand and personnel, known for their navigation/communication expertise, provide 24/7 worldwide service and support. The office in Oslo coordinates the operation with BW Fleet Management.
Long-established relationship
This latest agreement follows a long-established relationship of some 15 years. Radio Holland has been providing support for the company’s Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) systems and GMDSS equipment.
Hans H. Lange, Electro Automation Superintendent, BW Fleet Management AS, says: “BWFM works with several companies for certain aspects of our vessels’ daily operations. Imtech’s Radio Holland is one of them, and over the years, they have proved to be a good partner. As part of regular efforts to streamline internal work processes, we decided to issue service contracts for Navigation and Communication systems, for a dedicated number of vessels, to a fixed partner. This will allow us to have a single point of contact, increase efficiency and release resources to pursue other work improvement initiatives. It was a natural choice for BWFM to invite Imtech’s Radio Holland and their Norwegian department to such a cooperation.

We offer 24/7 support and provide quarterly reports.”
Currently, Radio Holland is in the process of evaluating all the navigation and communication equipment on the 13 vessels so it can guide and advise BWFM about any upgrades or replacements that need to be carried out in the near future.
“Our engineers and coordinators are working very closely with BWFM superintendents. The vessels can also contact us directly for any questions or help they need.”
