Horizon Marine Announces Personnel Changes

Horizon Marine, Inc. announced several recent personnel changes as part of Horizon’s strategy to take on the current industry downturn.

 

“This downturn in our industry is an opportunity for us to shore up our product portfolio and focus on marketing efforts,” said said Patrice Coholan, President of Horizon Marine. “Our promotions and new team members align with our forward-thinking strategy and will position Horizon Marine for additional growth despite the volatile market conditions we see today.”

 

Glenn Burnett has been promoted to Offshore Operations Manager. He will manage drifting buoy production, FAST Eddy SURVEY system deployments, and day-to-day operations of the warehouse. He brings to the role nine years of experience as a Marine Technician and EddyWatch Analyst 

 

Glenn’s promotion allows for Chris Riffe to transition from Offshore Operations Director to Chief Technology Director, now responsible for identifying new technologies and developing integrated solutions that not only enhance existing services, but have the potential for Horizon Marine to expand into additional markets and new regions. Riffe has been with Horizon for 10 years and as Chief Technology Director. 

 

Heather Zimmerle has joined the EddyWatch team as a Physical Oceanographer.  Heather comes to Horizon Marine with a B.S. in Meteorology from Western Illinois University and a M.S. in Oceanography from Texas A&M University.  While at TAMU, Zimmerle’s academic focus was the hypoxic zone on the Texas-Louisiana Shelf in the northern Gulf of Mexico, and her research contributed to the Hypoxia Data Atlas.  Heather will contribute to the daily analysis of the Loop Current, Northern Brazil Current and resulting eddies.

 

Leo Ambrosi has joined the Horizon Marine team as a Business Development Specialist. Ambrosi’s 10 years in the oil and gas industry has focused on supporting and coordinating Emergency Response efforts for deepwater Gulf of Mexico exploration and production. His experience is from both the operator-side working for ConocoPhillips and Nexen, and the supplier-side as a Senior Project Manager with O’Briens Response Management. His insight into the Incident Management System will allow for the development of unique solutions for the Emergency Response community. Ambrosi has a Master’s of degree in Marine Resources Management from Texas A&M University in Galveston, Texas and a Bachelors degree in Oceanography from the University of West Florida.
