New MD for Hallin’s West Division

October 7, 2011

Hallin Marine, a Superior Energy Services Company, has appointed a new managing director for its West Division as it grows the capability and assets of its Aberdeen-based operation. Hallin has promoted Giovanni Corbetta to the Managing Director’s role after he distinguished himself as the division’s projects director.  Giovanni has strong, industry-wide experience and is considered ideal to lead Hallin’s expansion in the region as it continues its growth from ROV operations to an integrated subsea contractor.
Hallin’s West Division has successfully operated a large fleet of ROV vehicles in the northern hemisphere and is emulating the success of the company’s Singapore-based East Division as it adds specialist DP2 vessels, saturation and air diving and engineering to its offering.
Giovanni, 47, has more than 20 years of experience in the subsea construction industry, having held senior positions with both Sonsub and Saipem. Giovanni said: ‘This is a very exciting time for West Division as we build on our traditional success with ROVs with the addition of new assets and wider-ranging expertise. ’
‘We will now offer our clients a greater range of services and solutions. For our staff it will mean greater opportunities and variety as the company continues to grow.’
Hallin CEO John Giddens said Giovanni is the ideal choice for the role: ‘Giovanni, with his energy, enthusiasm and his wide-ranging industry experience is the right person to lead the West Division.
‘He has been instrumental in growing our offering to clients and, in this exciting era, will bring a new focus to the Division operations as an integrated subsea contractor.’
West Division recently moved to new, purpose-built premises in Aberdeen. The Division employs more than 100 people and is currently operating offshore in North Sea, Mediterranean, West Africa, Caspian and Middle East.
