GMDSS Task Force: Meeting Report & Next Meeting

The GMDSS Task Force met 2, May 2014 at the Loews Annapolis Hotel in Annapolis, MD, USA, to address current issues in maritime radio communications and related navigation system subjects. Its next meeting is Thursday 31 July 2014 at 9:30 am, at RTCM Headquarters, Arlington, VA, USA.

Last meeting
Chairman Capt. Jack Fuechsel, USCG (Ret) noted that the last meeting was very well attended with over 60 participants. The Task Force presently has a membership of over 3500 interested parties worldwide.

The membership is composed of commercial vessel operators, recreational vessel interests, training institutions, service agents, manufacturers, and government authorities.

Membership is open to any interested person or organization and there is no fee.
