Cardplatforms and i2c are collaborating to launch a global marine payroll program through MultiBank in Panama.

Cardplatforms, a global prepaid services company, has chosen i2c, Inc. as one of its payment processing providers, and will use i2c’s MCP global payment processing platform to launch and manage several diversified card-based and virtual prepaid products.

The initial collaboration will be CrewCashCard, a global marine payroll program launching through MultiBank in Panama. This program, which is expected to launch in November 2012, has a target audience of 1.5M employees working on marine tankers throughout the world.

Cardplatforms’ CEO Jeff Foster noted: “We selected i2c because the MCP platform was designed from inception with native globalization support and a business rules driven framework. As a result, Cardplatforms can launch our fully customized CrewCashCard payroll program for the marine tanker industry from Panama and other foreign ports in as little as 30 days.”

“We are excited to be partnering with Cardplatforms and Multibank,” said Jim Ackerson, Senior Vice President at i2c. “The innovative CrewCashCard program is a compelling offering. We look forward to extending our international processing capabilities with Cardplatforms as they continue to promote their global prepaid services.”
