Drum Cussac Security Business up in 2013

February 5, 2014

Drum Cussac's maritime security market share grew by 50 percent in 2013

In the second half of 2013, the number of secured transits conducted by Drum Cussac, using both armed and un-armed security consultants, was 16% up on the same period in 2012.

Drum Cussac's Director of Maritime, Charlotte Tinworth said: "I am delighted with our team achievements in such a competitive industry.  Our high standards, including our unrelenting focus on HSSE; the professionalism and dedication of our people, combined with our client relationships and ability to adapt to any circumstances have resulted in the growth of our market share.  Although pirate attacks have fallen in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden, where we are prevalent, and there have been no incidents of pirates taking a vessel hostage since May 2012, we are still very conscious there is a latent threat.  We at Drum Cussac continue to adjust with the changes in the market to be a safe pair of hands for our clients."

Drum Cussac does not only protect commercial shipping, yachts and super yachts but also provides protection and security for oil and gas installations worldwide.

Drum Cussac's Chief Operating Officer, David Pickard, explains: "We have managed and supported thousands of separate vessel tasks in support of offshore operations within the HRAs off East and West Africa, India and in the Far East.  We have protected everything from multi-million dollar rigs, to 17 metre tugs, to barges on tow from Singapore to Brazil. We adapt our bespoke services to meet the needs of all our clients."

Drum Cussac recently gained certification to ISO PAS 28007 for excellence in private maritime security provision.
