Solace Global Maritime is offering a free Threat Summary Map for visitors to their stand, Q33, at this year’s Sea Asia, Singapore.
Produced by the company’s intelligence cell, the A1 poster will detail key global incidents that have occurred in the first quarter of 2013 that may have an affect on the merchant shipping industry on land or at sea.
“While incidents of piracy in the Indian Ocean decreased dramatically in 2012 compared to the previous year, we have seen a global escalation in activity in the first quarter of 2013, with some attacks taking on a more violent nature,” says Stuart Barnett, Head of Intelligence at Solace Global Maritime.
“These violent and determined attacks in the Gulf of Guinea along with growing terrorist threats and civil tension across North and Sub-Saharan Africa continue to cause concern.
