Sims Recycling Solutions is First to be TAPA Certified

September 12, 2011

Sims Recycling Solutions, the world’s largest electronics recycler receives their Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) certification at their first facility in Roseville, CA. TAPA is an international Association that implements security standards for logistics pipelines in an effort to fight against cargo crime. This certification involves security of data and material storage and transportation.

“By Sims Recycling Solutions becoming TAPA certified we are hoping to do more than demonstrate our concern to maintain a high level of security standards”, stated Steve Skurnac, President, Sims Recycling Solutions, Americas. “Sims hopes to set the standard for the industry to assist in the overall protection of businesses from these current existing threats.”

The audit for certification was extensive and involved a thorough walk through of our current security standards in place. TAPA has become a worldwide benchmark for security handling guidelines and practices and major freight handlers are joining TAPA or employing TAPA-recognized security standards for facility certification as well as for freight care and handling.

Sims Recycling Solutions is a proud member of several organizations and associations. To view a list of the industry affiliations please visit http://us.simsrecycling.com/about-us/affiliations.
