Silver Ships Delivers Patrol Boats to NC Sheriffs

Silver Ships, Inc. recently delivered two 27’ Patrol Boats to the New Hanover and Brunswick County Sheriff’s Departments.

 

The vessels will be tasked with patrolling the Intracoastal Waterways, the Cape Fear River and coastal waters as well as the surrounding estuaries and barrier islands within the jurisdiction of the New Hanover & Brunswick Counties, North Carolina. The 27-foot, deep vee, vessels were designed and configured to meet the mission requirements for extended patrol, emergency response and fast pursuit when necessary. To enhance the capability of the crew and boarding officers, for year around service, the vessel is configured with a 4-man, fully enclosed, climate controlled pilot house and a Wing foam collar system. Mission enhancements include suspension seating for the operator and navigator and bench style seating for additional officers.

 

Navigation and Communications equipment include Raymarine Radar, GPS, FLIR camera and Icom VHF radio as well as dedicated Police Radios. Lighting consists of a roof mounted remote controlled search light, roof mounted deck lights, cockpit courtesy lighting and red/white interior cabin lights. Onboard auxiliary power is supplied from a 5.5 kW gasoline generator and 30 amp shore power.

 

The main propulsion engines are twin 200hp Yamaha Four Stroke outboards. Fully operational, the boats achieve a maximum speed in excess of 41 knots. The vessel is outfitted with a heavy duty, custom built aluminum trailer.
