Seaport Chartering Adopts ShipDecision Technology.

February 18, 2011

Seaport Chartering Corporation selected ShipDecision technology for its New York Brokerage. Seaport President Frank Messina commented, “My team is using the technology to manage the high volume of information we receive via email every day. The Message Watch feature is proving to be a very efficient way to ensure that we get to the most important information first.”
“Every one of our clients has their own way of working, so we ensured that ShipDecision supports a full range of business needs, while remaining easy to use,” explained Albert Carbone, President and CEO of Stelvio, Inc., the developer of the technology. “Information overload is one of the key  business issues we tackled. Our technology provides intelligent data triage enabling users to  determine the type of information they want to be alerted to. They can even decide to have Watched List items forwarded to their Blackberries or smart phones.”
ShipDecision is a Maritime Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that helps organize the sharing and use of information among business partners in the Maritime sector. Accessible from anywhere an internet connection is available, and protected through banking-level encryption, ShipDecision intelligently processes data, documents and communications related to each voyage.  Every piece of information received is safely secured in an electronic vault which can be accessed by authorized users who need to work with the information.  This also provides a tamper-proof audit trail of all business activities. The web-based architecture removes the need for in-house servers and complex IT

infrastructure. With specific modules for Brokers, Operators, Charterers, Surveyors, Agents, P&I Clubs and Registries, ShipDecision saves time, reduces costs, and helps create a competitive advantage. It can be customized to suit an organization’s business needs and to mirror an organization’s business processes. ShipDecision is a product of Stelvio Inc., a Montreal based software development house that has been successfully designing commercial solutions since 1990.
