ABS Nautical Systems Continues To Grow In Egyptian Market

May 10, 2011

HOUSTON, Texas - ABS Nautical Systems today announced that they have been selected as the fleet management software provider for Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport Company (AMPTC). AMPTC owns and operates a fleet of LPG Carriers, Crude Oil Tankers and Product Carriers operating in the spot market worldwide that was established by member counties of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting countries.

AMPTC, whose shareholders include the states of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Iraq, Libya, Algeria, Bahrain and Egypt, gives ABS Nautical Systems’ continued exposure in the Egyptian market and this trend is continuing to increase.

NS5 will be implemented on 13 AMPTC tankers. The software suite will provide AMPTC with a standardized, yet flexible approach to managing the principal functions of these tankers.

AMPTC will be using the Maintenance & Repair, Vessel Drawings, Drydock, Vetting and Hull Inspection modules from the NS5 software suite.  These NS5 modules will aid AMPTC in managing tanker maintenance, tracking structural conditions, standardizing drydocks and vetting inspections and storing vessel drawings and documents.

“Our software solutions will give AMPTC the ability to manage the day-to-day business functions and operating costs for their vessels,” said Karen Hughey, President and COO of ABS Nautical Systems. “We look forward to building a relationship with AMPTC, as well as expanding our involvement in Egypt.”
