NAPA has opened a German office, also hiring Sales Director Lars Nickel.

With its new Hamburg office, NAPA aims to strengthen its market position in the European market and develop closer collaboration with customers, the company explained.

Joining NAPA from Atlas Elektronic, following a seven-year career at Imtech Marine, Nickel brings to his new role the knowledge and understanding of the German maritime technology market to service NAPA’s customers in Germany, as well as in Belgium and the Netherlands.

In addition, the launch of Germany’s National Master Plan for Marine Technology, launched earlier this year, has poised the German shipbuilding market for growth, including the establishment of new shipyards around the country. With around 95 percent of newbuild vessels currently designed at shipyards using NAPA software and the recent launch of an innovative CAD-style 3D design interface, NAPA Designer, NAPA said it is well-placed to offer solutions on its doorstep as the industry expands.
