September 13, 2011

CMA CGM improves the US East Coast port coverage of its CAGEMA service.

The CMA CGM Group is pleased to announce the reshuffling of its CAGEMA Main Liner service, linking the United States East Coast and the Caribbean, effective 9th September 2011. The modifications will be as follows:

*The addition of two direct calls to New York and Jacksonville, enhancing port coverage of the US East Coast.

* The ports of Castries (Saint Lucia), Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), El Guamache (Venezuela) and Oranjestad (Aruba) will now be serviced through transhipment onto other CMA CGM Group services:

Goods to and from Castries will be carried on the CAGEMA Inter Island feeder service, via Vieux Fort.
Goods to and from Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago) will be transferred at the dedicated Kingston hub to loop 2 of the PEX 2 service (linking Asia, Mexico, the Caribbean and North Brazil)
El Guamache’s port will be served by the Caribraz service (linking the Caribbean to Brazil), while goods to Oranjestad will be transported on the Venezuela Feeder, via Cartagena.

The new CAGEMA Main Liner service rotation will be as follows:

New York – Savannah – Jacksonville – Miami – Kingston – Rio Haina – San Juan – Philipsburg – Vieux Fort – Bridgetown – New York

“In addition to wider coverage of the US East Coast, the combination of CAGEMA Main Liner, CAGEMA Inter Island, the PEX 2 loop 2 and the Venezuela Feeder means we can provide all these ports on a weekly basis with the same quality of service,” says Jean-Yves Duval, Vice-President Caribbean and Latin America Lines, CMA CGM. The CAGEMA Main Liner service called into Jacksonville for the first time on 9th September and will call at New York on 24th September.
