Hi-Gas system can be used in all types of vessel such as LNG carriers, containerships, and oil tankers. With its advantages, the system can meet both the shipowners’ demands and stricter IMO environmental regulations.

When in due course, on 1, January 2015, the IMO’s SOx regulations come into force in ECA's (Emission Control Area) this system is considered to be of special interest to a large international market; currently, the United States, Norway, and the North Sea are designated as ECA's.

Mr. Lee Tae-young, vice president of HHI’s Engine and Machinery Division said “There are numerous inquiries regarding the FGSS. This FGSS will give us marketing leverage for new shipbuilding order as IMO regulations begin in earnest."
