Furuno has announced several changes to its sales department, including the addition of two commercial sales representatives and promotion of several long-time employees, as well as welcoming new service personnel into the company. All of these changes became effective on December 1st, 2015.
 
Jon Closson - Fisheries and Specialty Products Sales Representative
Furuno’s Northwest Regional Sales Manager since 2006, Jon Closson, will take up the role of Fisheries and Specialty Products Sales Representative. In addition to serving dealers, Closson has assisted in expanding Furuno's presence in the commercial fishing fleets of the Northwest and Alaska. This new position will allow him to bring his knowledge to the fishing fleets of the Northeast and mid-Atlantic. Jon has relocated to Boston to help serve the needs of Furuno’s East Coast dealers and fishing fleets.

Bart Disher - Commercial Sales Representative
Previously Furuno’s Southwest Regional Manager, Bart Disher is taking up the mantle of Commercial Sales Representative for the Gulf Region and West Coast. Disher has been with Furuno in a sales capacity since 2007. He will continue to be based in Furuno’s Camas, Wash. headquarters, and will work directly with long-time Furuno Gulf Regional Manager Butch Weghorst for Commercial Sales throughout the region, as well as taking an active role in Commercial project sales throughout the Western United States.
 
Reynard "Rey" Ortiz - Southwest Regional Sales Associate
To fill the gap left in the Southwest Territory, Furuno announced that Reynard "Rey" Ortiz has joined the Furuno family as its new Southwest Regional Sales Associate. Ortiz is a recent graduate of the maritime business program at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Ortiz will be based out of Furuno’s Camas, Wash. facility.

Alan Terry - Northwest Sales Associate
To fill the gap left in the Northwest Territory, Furuno announced that Alan Terry will be taking over as the new Northwest Sales Associate. Terry previously served as Service Coordinator in Camas for 17 years and has decades of experience in the U.S. Coast Guard on both active duty and the reserves, making him an excellent addition to Furuno’s sales department. Alan will be based out of Furuno’s Camas, Wash. facility.
 
Jeff Shield – Commercial Sales Representative
Previously one of Furuno’s Deep Sea Field Technicians, Jeff Shield is Furuno’s newest Commercial Sales Representative for the Eastern United States. Shield has been with Furuno since 2007 and will remain based in their Denton, Md. office.

Brandon Christopher - Field Service Technician
Furuno added a new Field Service Technician position that will aid in Field Service for the recreational side of Furuno’s business. Brandon Christopher has been hired to take on this new position. Christopher comes to Furuno with more than 11 years of experience in the Marine Electronics Industry. His primary duties will include field service and dealer training. Brandon will be based out of Denton, Md.
 
Drew Linzey - Regional Manager, Mid-Atlantic & Northeast
Drew Linzey has recently expanded his territory to include the Mid-Atlantic dealers. Linzey joined the Furuno team in 2008. He will continue to be based out of their Denton, Md. office which services dealers throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic.
