Crowley Maritime Chooses Widen IT Management Solution

June 14, 2013

Widen Enterprises has been contracted by Crowley to replace its high-maintenance installed system with cloud-based Widen DAM.

The new system aims to provide Crowley with a better user experience for employees and to gain greater system configuration options.

"Crowley selected Widen over their competitors for a variety of reasons, including the user experience, flexibility in configuration, and the ability to use workflow approvals to collaborate with our employees.  We are excited that we can replace one of our custom printed applications with the Widen solution,” said Mark Miller, Director of Corporate Communications at Crowley.

Crowley’s installed DAM system had become difficult to maintain and fell many versions behind the latest update. The company wanted to move to a SaaS-system that the provider would maintain and update.

The maritime services company needed a DAM solution that could accommodate business development professionals amongst the company’s 5,300 employees around the world.  Crowley plans to phase in users as needed. With Widen, the Crowley DAM administrators will be able to add users on-the-fly.

Crowley anticipates moving up to 1 TB of data from their legacy system, which lacks a governance model. As Crowley’s DAM user-base grows, governance will become even more demanding, but Widen’s solution will make roles and permissions easy to manage.
