Merdith “Bo” Temple, a retired U.S. Army General and leading authority on public sector engineering and related construction programs, has been named Senior Board Advisor to Tesla NanoCoatings, a leading producer of high-tech, anticorrosive coatings for the military and oil and gas industry.

Temple joins Tesla NanoCoatings with more than 20 years of senior executive experience managing complex, multibillion-dollar infrastructure projects. For nearly a decade, he held numerous senior-ranking positions within the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

Most recently, Temple served as the acting commanding general and chief of engineers for USACE. As commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Chief of Engineers leads a major Army organization that is the world's largest public engineering, design and construction management agency and is responsible for the delivery of approximately $20 billion annually in construction programs performed throughout the United States and in 30 separate countries. As the Deputy Commanding General for USACE Civil and Emergency Operations, he also supervised $10 billion in civil works and emergency operations programs that provided navigation and port improvement, flood risk reduction, coastal protection, environmental restoration and emergency response support to local, state and federal agencies based around the nation.

Temple received a B.S and M.S. in civil engineering from Virginia Military Institute and Texas A&M University, respectively. He is a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a certified project management professional. Recipient of numerous professional awards, he is a fellow in both the Society of American Military Engineers and American Society of Civil Engineers.

Temple is a resident of Springfield, Virginia.
