Troy Container Line Ltd., one of the largest American-owned NVOCCs announced its 30th anniversary on March 24, 2014. The company is celebrating with a commemorative look back at its founding year and a recap of key milestones that have supported its growth and success during the last three decades. Founder and CEO Michael Cadden Troy is marking this major milestone with a $50,000 charitable contribution to “Step up to the Plate”, the Capital Campaign for Lunch Break.
Based in Red Bank, N.J., Lunch Break is a local nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing and fellowship for our community members in need. The unprecedented increase in demand for this organization’s services has led to the need for the expansion of its facilities. They are now in the process of raising funds for this very important project.
“Lunch Break captured my attention many years ago. It is an organization that fosters the goodness of the human spirit and treats everyone with compassion and dignity,” commented Michael Cadden Troy, CEO and founder of Troy Container Line. “With our 30th anniversary quickly approaching, I can think of no better way to celebrate this milestone than by supporting Lunch Break and in turn our local community. The contribution to Lunch Break is being given in the name of our valued clients, vendors and employees - they are the backbone of my company and without them this donation would not be possible.”
Growing and expanding a successful company throughout three recessions, changing government regulations and shifts in security measures, Troy has navigated and planned for the long-term success of Troy Container Line throughout the years. He launched the company, originally Troy Catucci Line, in Brooklyn New York in 1984 with one LCL export route to Hong Kong. Troy spent the next five years strategically growing the company and its capabilities while maintaining the highest level of customer service. In 1989, the company’s FCL export department was born with a service to Hong Kong. Troy then set his sights on import consolidation, launching a service from Hong Kong to the United States in 1998 and then opening an entire office in Charlotte, N.C. dedicated to overseeing imports for the company.
Today, Troy Container Line provides reliable FCL, LCL and Import services to and from more than 110 countries on six continents, connecting with more than 1,000 destinations around the globe. In addition to a vast array of locations and services, Troy Container Line provides customers access to more than 85 importing and 21 exporting warehouses around the United States. To ensure the utmost in streamlined, quality customer service, Troy Container Line has recently restructured their exports department, merging the FCL and LCL teams into one cohesive unit.
Troy has been an active member of the Red Bank community since 1997 when he relocated the company to its current headquarters on West Street. Throughout the years, Troy has maintained a tradition of charitable work that carries through to today. In addition to the company’s ongoing support of Lunch Break, philanthropic efforts are carried out in Red Bank, N.J. and beyond via the Troy Family Foundation.
