Trelleborg is expanding the docking and mooring service of its marine systems operation as part of an ongoing commitment to better serving its global customer base through local presence.

In an effort to make certain that all customers have access to the same high quality support, from conceptual design through to after sales care for docking and mooring equipment, Trelleborg’s marine systems operation is giving customers access to a dedicated docking and mooring representative in each region. Previously all docking and mooring activities were centered in Melbourne, Australia.

Richard Hepworth, President of Trelleborg Marine Systems, said, “We’re committed to ensuring we are as close to our clients as possible. Whilst previously we sold our docking and mooring product portfolio out of our Melbourne facility, we recognize that this was not the ideal scenario for customers based in other locations around the world.

“With a global client base, it’s essential that we’re consistently reviewing how we best service all regions.  We wanted to make it easier for all our customers to reach us, whenever they need to – so we’ve invested in growth.  Now, no matter which region our customers are based in, they will always find a dedicated expert speaking the local language, and working in the local time zone.”

The expansion of the division will see dedicated representatives based in Asia, Oceania, South America, China, Japan, IMEA, Europe and America. The proliferation of experts in each region will make it easier for customers to get in touch, and each representative will feed back in to the Manufacturing Centre of Excellence in Melbourne, where a multi-disciplined team of engineers are based.

Trelleborg is unique in offering in-house designed mooring hardware and monitoring software; ensuring systems are correctly configured and matched to client requirements.

”We have over 30 years’ experience in providing the very best docking and mooring systems all over the world, with maintenance and after sales service offered as standard, to help customers maximize durability and reliability whilst minimizing downtime and whole life costs.” Hepworth continued, “We have the largest and most experienced team of docking and mooring specialised engineers in the world, twice the number of the nearest competitor.”

The concept, design, manufacturing and testing and project management can all be handled in-house by Trelleborg. Clients will benefit from a dedicated Trelleborg project manager, to provide one point of contact and work with them as their project is developed, built, delivered and commissioned.
