Titanic Replica Tycoon Hosts New York Dinner

April 5, 2013

Australian businessman and owner of Blue Star Cruise Line, Professor Clive Palmer, hosted the black-tie event aboard the retired 'USS Intrepid'.

The organizers say that the event was attended by a who’s who of world leaders, senior diplomats and major political figures, who were treated to a lavish 11-course menu, first class entertainment and the unveiling of Titanic II blueprints.

Singer/songwriter Roxy Darr's rendition of the song 'My Heart Will Go On', impressed Professor Palmer to the extent that he uploaded a video of her performance onto social networking site Vimeo.

Blue Star add that they consider that Titanic II has captured the world’s imagination since Professor Palmer announced that his shipping company, would recreate the famous ship in honour of the 100 year anniversary of the launch and untimely fate of the original Titanic. While every bit as luxurious as her namesake, Titanic II will have every modern amenity along with 21st century technology and the latest navigation and safety systems.

The replica is designed by Finland-based Deltamarin and is likely to be built in China by CSC Jinling Shipyard.
