Thorn to Chair Danish Pleasure Craft Safety Board

Jan Thorn will take over the chairmanship of the Danish Pleasure Craft Safety Board on February 1, 2015. 
 
Thorn is Director of the Danish Maritime Authority’s division “Aids to Navigation” that is striving to enhance safety at sea for both commercial shipping and pleasure cruising. He has a background in the now abolished Danish Maritime Safety Administration and the Danish Defense and is an active yachtsman.
 
He takes over the post from Francis Zachariae, who has been appointed Secretary General of the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) in Paris from February 1.
