Shipowner and operator, Swire Pacific Offshore Operations (Pte) Ltd (SPO) won the SRS Shipowner of the Year award at the Singapore International Maritime Awards (IMA) 2015 ceremony held on Tuesday, 21 April 2014 at The Ritz-Carlton, Millennia Singapore.

Held as one of the anchor events of the Singapore Maritime Week (19 - 24 April 2015), the biennial Singapore IMA ceremony seeks to give recognition to  individuals and companies for their contributions to Singapore's development as a premier global hub port and an international maritime centre.  The event is organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

“Winning the SRS Shipowner of the Year award is a great honour for SPO as we celebrate our 40th anniversary this year. I would like to thank the MPA and their distinguished panel of judges for the award and take this opportunity to thank all the teams at SPO, at sea and ashore, for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the success of the company,” says Managing Director, Swire Pacific Offshore, Mr Neil Glenn.

This is the first time that SPO has won this award. Past recipients of this award include BW Group in 2013 and Pacific International Lines in 2011.

SPO is a fully owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific Limited. Since its inception in 1975, the company has expanded beyond conventional anchor-handling and platform supply operations to include a wide range of marine services including salvage, seismic survey, oil spill response, windfarm installation, decommissioning and subsea/ROV support. Today, SPO owns and operates a diverse fleet of 91 offshore support vessels with offices across six continents and is well-equipped to provide high quality and reliable services to its clients. Of the 91 vessels, more than two thirds are Singapore-flagged. In line with its vision, “Excellence in Marine Services”, SPO places strong emphasis on health and safety, the environment and sustainable development.

As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, SPO has lined up a series of industry engagement programmes and community projects. On 25 March 2015, SPO hosted two exclusive guided tours for 50 industry partners and clients onboard the newly launched vessels, Pacific Goldfinch and Pacific Centurion at the Loyang Offshore Supply Base. On 28 April 2015, 40 SPO
employees will be going to the Bright Vision Hospital to paint two Singapore-themed murals, “Garden of Faith” and “Reminiscing Singapore” to bring cheer to patients and care-givers.
