Stoddart to lead GL Noble Denton - Americas

July 18, 2012

GL Noble Denton, the independent technical advisor to the oil and gas industry, has appointed industry veteran Arthur Stoddart to lead its operations in the Americas.

Stoddart will become Executive Vice President for the region, based in Houston. He will take overall responsibility for developing GL Noble Denton's presence across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
The company has an extensive track record of advising operators on the safety, integrity and performance of their on-and offshore assets, through the provision of services including technical assurance and marine consulting.

Stoddart brings nearly 30 years of hands-on oil and gas engineering experience to GL Noble Denton's Americas Region. He is a recognised specialist in the structural and hydrodynamic design of floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units, and his career has included extended assignments on design projects in California, Oslo and Korea.

A chartered engineer and member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, Stoddart also joins GL Noble Denton's Management Board, having spent four years as managing director for the company's UK mid- and downstream consultancy, working with clients such as the BG Group, National Grid and Centrica.

Stoddart also successfully led the development of GL Noble Denton's global Gas Consulting practice during his career with the company, drawing upon its 40-year heritage in research and development to deliver leading technical advice in pipeline safety and infrastructure development.

Commenting on his move to lead GL Noble Denton's Americas operations, Stoddart said: "The past few years have been a watershed for the American oil and gas industry. After a period of volatility, operators are more focused on asset safety and risk than ever before, as the region ramps up the development of its significant deepwater and unconventional gas reserves.

"GL Noble Denton is perfectly placed to provide the technical advice the industry needs as it continues to explore new opportunities. I look forward to working with our 500-strong team across the region as we continue to deliver industry best practice to our clients."
