September 8, 2015

Silverstream Technologies, pioneers of air lubrication technology for the shipping industry, today announced the appointment of Stephen Potts as its new Head of Supply Chain.  The development is based on the company’s strategy to further expand its infrastructure on the back of the significant increase in interest in the Silverstream System and impending commercial orders.

Stephen Potts joins Silverstream Technologies from leading luxury super yacht manufacturer Sunseeker International where he served as Supply Chain Director, responsible for the procurement and logistics teams. Prior to this, he held prominent positions in several globally renowned companies including Babcock International Group, Siemens and BT Global Services, through which he gained a wealth of experience in managing high profile programmes across several sectors. He has also served as a board member of the International Association of Commercial and Contract Management, a global organisation with over 14,000 corporate members, which is leading the way in setting world-class standards in contracting and relationship management.

“We are delighted to welcome Stephen to the business, and with the knowledge and skills that he brings to Silverstream I am confident that he will become a key member of the team as we drive the business forward,” said Noah Silberschmidt, CEO, Silverstream Technologies.

“As our order book continues to grow for both retrofit and new build installations following the success of our landmark sea trial with Shell, it is important that we develop the infrastructure of the business to manage this growth efficiently, whilst delivering the best possible service to our customers. By streamlining our existing supply chain processes under the guidance of a knowledgeable expert such as Stephen, we can deliver quality assurance to our customers, as well as minimise costs and risks.”

Silverstream has successfully built on the sea trial with Shell to convert the results into a strong pipeline of orders. The first commercial installation of the Silverstream System on the Norwegian Cruise Line vessel ‘Norwegian Bliss’ is due to be delivered in Spring 2017, with the option of installation on two further vessels, and going forward the order book encompasses several different class of vessel.
