SENER Celebrates 50 Years of FORAN

SENER celebrates in Shanghai the FORAN System 50th anniversary and presents the new version V80

 
The SENER Group division in Shanghai held a 50th anniversary celebration of FORAN system where it also presented its new version V80. More than 100 attendees from 40 companies including shipyards, design offices, classification societies, universities and partners attended the event.
 
The event received endorsement from Embassy of Spain and CDTI (Spain’s Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology) with participation of representatives. The Economic and Commercial Consul from Economic and Commercial office in Shanghai of Embassy of Spain, Eduardo Euba, gave salute in the beginning of the event. He pointed out that SENER is one of the most important engineering companies in Spain and wished SENER big success in China.
 
The General Manager of the SENER Marine unit, Rafael De Góngora, introduced the FORAN development plan and the Chief Regional Officer in Asia & Pacific, Alfonso Cebollero, shared SENER strategic plan for China, Japan and South Korea. FORAN client Shanghai Greatsail Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. also shared FORAN successful experience with the audiences. During the event, the Country Manager of SENER in China, Dr. Guangwu Liu, officially announced FORAN new contract with CIMC Ocean Engineering Design & Research Institute which was signed on December 1, 2015.
 
Engineers from SENER Shanghai office showed functionalities of FORAN new version V80 including new development in this version such as welding management, FORAN-PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Link and virtual reality solutions.
 
FORAN is the shipbuilding CAD system developed by SENER which can be used in all design stages including conceptual design, basic design, detail design, production design and linked with product life cycle management. SENER established in Shanghai in January 2013. Currently there are more than 15 FORAN clients in China including state-owned companies from China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), CIMC and private companies.
