2 Push Boats Delivered from Shipyard Gebr. Kooiman

Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman successfuly completed modification of two push boats, Imperial XV and XVI, in record time and delivered them to its new owner in Argentina on 26 th September.

Initially, these push boats were designed for operation in West-European waters, implying the need to implement several modifications to allow problem free operation in Argentina – Paraguay. Because of its experience as a designer and builder of similar high powered push boats and the knowledge of the existing as well as the new operational area of the vessels, Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman has been able to successfully implement the modifications needed, within a limited time frame.

Upon completion of several modifications on Imperial XV and XVI, in week 38 - 2014 both vessels were loaded on a heavy cargo vessel for transportation to South America. There the ships will be employed in push boat transports on the Parana rivers.

As such, Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman, amongst others, has carried out following alterations:
 Fuel oil bunker capacity increased from 130 up to 290m3 by adding side tanks
and connecting these with the existing fuel oil bunker tanks of the ship.
 Increased the capacity of the box coolers
 Installed a fuel oil consumption control system
 Installed a new sewage plant
 Installed a new bilge water separator
 Modified the navigation lighting to coincide with the new operational area
 Increased the AC capacity (Imperial XVI) / installed new (Imperial XV)
 Propeller shaft and rudder installations checked and repaired as needed.
 Supplied several main components as spare parts
