DHL Parcel Opened in Terminal Amsterdam

September 28, 2018

DHL Parcel officially opened its new state-of-the-art sorting centre located on Kaapstadweg in the Atlaspark on Thursday, 20 September, informed a press release from the company.

The release said that this marked the culmination of a very successful project of Aan de Stegge and WDP, with the building being completed on time and within budget.

"The growth of DHL Parcel calls for greater and modern sorting capacity. This capacity must be at a location that is easily accessible and that forms an optimum operating base from which recipients can be reached quickly," it said.

The building is BREEAM. BREEAM-NL is the leading instrument for measuring and assessing the sustainability of new buildings, existing buildings, areas and demolition projects in an integrated manner.

The solar panels on the roof provide 80% of the required energy. The sorting centre can process 13,000 parcels an hour. This makes DHL Parcel Amsterdam one of the most innovative sorting centres within DHL’s European parcel network.

Port of Amsterdam congratulated DHL on this outstanding new terminal in the Port of Amsterdam, the release said.
