NASCENT Acquires SmartTrack Logistics

December 8, 2016

NASCENT Technology, LLC,a  provider of gate automation and related technologies, announced that it has acquired Smart Track Logistics, a Jacksonville, FL - based provider of cloud-based solutions for supply chain management, freight planning, and scheduling.  The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"Through its innovative Nimbus Connect product offering, Smart Track has captured a segment of the warehousing and distribution market that has been largely ignored.  The enterprise-class solution is designed and priced for smaller to mid-size operations and, therefore, appeals to a growing number of businesses who are in need of a way to better manage their link within the supply-chain," said Michael Bratt, Chief Operating Officer of NASCENT Technology, LLC.  "As we look for opportunities to expand our offerings in cost-effective cloud-based technologies for logistics and supply chain management, acquisitions like this one just make sense."

Headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, Smart Track provides cloud-based software and solutions for freight planning and scheduling, transportation tracking, and inbound and outbound dock management.  The target markets and core set of features of the company's flagship software aligns well with those of NASCENT's existing readyAGS product.

While readyAGS has continually gained traction and momentum since it was announced in 2011, NASCENT company executives believe that the acquisition will help bolster its adoption, especially among distribution centers, BCO's (Beneficial Cargo Owners), and warehouses, in the months following the acquisition.
