NACE International, the corrosion society, will offer a special workshop free to all attendees at Corrosion 2010 that is specifically designed to help private industry sell to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The workshop introduces the DoD web portal, CorrDefense, and explains how to use the associated DoD Product Introduction Tool.
The workshop will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas. It is part of the week-long Corrosion 2010 conference that will host more than 5,000 corrosion professionals from more than 40 countries.
During the 3-1/2-hour workshop, demonstrations and examples will provide details on finding applicable DoD specifications with performance requirements that correspond to various private sector products. It will also reveal the correct introduction process utilized by the DoD to evaluate product types. The Workshop will go on to help define the process when no existing DoD specification corresponds to a particular product or category.
The workshop will conclude with a presentation by Daniel J. Dunmire, Director, DoD Office of Corrosion Policy and Oversight (CPO) on how project plans for technology insertions and demonstrations are developed, then how they are best submitted to the CPO Office for funding considerations.
Corrosion 2010 will bring together corrosion industry leaders, executives, and decision makers for workshops, forums, and events. It runs from March 14-18, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. Over 350 exhibitors from around the world will round out a comprehensive look at the corrosion industry.
