Krishnapatnam Unveils India’s First Ocean linked Golf Course

Krishnapatnam, the country’s largest all-weather; deep water port on the east-coast of India in an effort to rephrase ‘customer delight’ and ensure a longstanding bond with each of its clientele has set up a first of its kind, world class 18-hole integrated golf course within the port premise.

Inaugurated by M. Venkaiah Naidu Hon’ble Union Minister for Urban Development and Information & Broadcasting, the golf course is linked to the ocean, making it the first of its kind, in the country.

Hon’ble Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhu also graced the occasion. Carved in a beautiful, natural landscape within the port hinterland CVR Links been planned designed and executed by the very renowned architect, David Hemstock who is also credited for creating the Amby Valley Golf Course near Mumbai.

Krishnapatnam Port which is fast becoming a port of choice for all international cargo has always created benchmarks in making records and staying class apart in the world of maritime business.

Inspired by the home of golf - St. Andrews, CVR Links has a teeing ground that is set off by markers, showing the bounds of the legal tee area, fairway, rough and other hazards, and the putting green surrounded by the fringe with the pin (normally a flagstick) and cup. The course is made of pure sand and is USGA certified material. The golf course is also linked to the ocean, making it the first of its kind, in the country.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. C Sasidhar – MD Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited said ‘’We want to showcase Krishnapatnam as not only an industrial hub but also a platform for a benign gathering of people from different walks of life. The golf course is a crowning accomplishment for the CVR Group and will add a modern face-lift to our smart city project which is currently underway.”

“Apart from having a good time while the goods are getting loaded or unloaded, CVR Links will be an ideal hotspot for the clientele of the port to interact with each other further strengthening their business ties and creating stronger bonds of commitment among companies and countries across the globe.” he further added.

Through CVR Links, Krishnapatnam port aims to create an opportunity to expand the number of investors for the economic development of the region alongside creating a social infrastructure platform of international standards and making Krishnapatnam Port the true gateway for India.
