KOGT, IDS Team on Rig Data System

September 7, 2011

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT) is cooperating closely with Independent Data
Services (IDS) to provide Oil and Gas operators with the first reporting platform that merges real-time and offline data for delivery via the web to a common interface.
KOGT offers a range of high performance information technology solutions for drilling operations, production, reservoirs and the subsea environment. IDS is the largest provider of web-delivered daily drilling, completions, geological and AFE/cost reporting services via its DataNet2 platform. IDS‘ DataNet2 services are bundled with document transfer, a ‘google’ type search engine and the ‘VisNet’ data visualisation tool for ‘dashboard’ presentation and analysis.
Ben Lovell, VP Sales & Marketing for KOGT Real-time Drilling Solutions comments: “We have
worked closely with IDS on a number of projects over the years but this teaming arrangement allows IDS and KOGT to make a step change at both the level of data integration and the presentation/visualisation services of the two companies to the ultimate benefit of the operator. We are delighted to have made this significant move and are looking forward to working together to provide this innovative reporting platform.”
Douwe Franssens, IDS GM, adds: “With access to the KOGT aggregation service, we have, for the
first time, the opportunity to build reports directly from data sources, which is a huge saving in time and resources at the well-site”.
Both KOGT and IDS share a common commitment to the established industry-standard borehole model and the WITSML data transfer protocol. By leveraging their adherence to standards and their extensive experience in the provision of web delivered services, the teaming arrangement clears
