Kemp Joins FMC as Senior Advisor

Carl A. Kemp has been selected to serve as the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission’s (FMC) Senior Advisor for Legislative and Public Affairs, FMC Chairman Mario Cordero announced today.
 
Kemp will coordinate all legislative and public affairs within all FMC divisions, reporting directly to Cordero.
 
Kemp brings to the position 20 years of experience in government and public affairs. He created the Office of Government Affairs and Communication in the City of Long Beach, and went on to create the Office of Government Affairs at the Port of Long Beach. He has been in private practice for the last eight years, with specific experience in maritime issues at the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
 
Kemp holds a B.A and MPA from California State University Long Beach, where he served two terms as Student Body President. He also earned a certificate in Executive Leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
