Jebel Ali Port Ups Safety and Security

Dubai Police and DP World, UAE Region have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance safety and security cooperation at Jebel Ali Port and surrounding industrial areas to enable the unhindered flow of trade through the Middle East’s largest seaport.
 
The MoU was signed by Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO, DP World and HE Major General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, Commandant General, Dubai Police, during a ceremony in Jebel Ali in the presence of senior officials from both organizations including Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World UAE Region.
 
DP World, UAE Region and Dubai Police will establish a joint committee to identify the safety and security issues, recommend solutions and ways to implement them.
 
HE Major General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, Commandant General, Dubai Police, said, “DP World and its flagship Jebel Ali Port is a hub of regional trade and the world class infrastructure plays an important role in attracting businesses from around the world. The agreement aims to enhance joint security action in this important pillar of Dubai’s economy benefitting the companies and organizations that use its services.” 
 
Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, said, “Building a safe, secure and resilient port community is part of our commitment to customers and port users. Dubai Police are one of the most professional security forces and our strategic partnership with them will raise efficiency at our facilities for the benefit of the business community.”
 
The agreement includes measures aimed at reducing accidents and tackling congestion on roads leading to and from Jebel Ali Port and Jebel Ali Freezone. Cooperation will also see new ways to exchange information and use of Jebel Ali Port’s logistical and security support systems such as its helipad and CCTV archives.
 
Joint workshops, training programs, emergency response drills and traffic awareness campaigns also feature in the agreement.
