Hendrik Veder Group Acquires Universal Inspection UK Ltd

Netherlands-based Hendrik Veder Group (HVG), a global specialists in steel wire and fibre rope products and lifting services, has announced its acquisition of Aberdeen-based Universal Inspection UK Ltd.

With sites in five European countries, Hendrik Veder Group is a provider of lifting and inspection services and has one of the largest wire rope sling production and test facilities in Europe.  It currently employs 130 staff.

Universal Inspection, which employs 17 staff at its Altens base, will support HVG’s move into additional markets, facilitating the firm’s UK and international growth strategy. As a result, HVG can offer UK customers the same wide range of combined products and services, economies of scale and additional technical support as it does across Europe.

The new Hendrik Veder Group facility will have a strong focus on supplying steel wire and fiber rope products and solutions, primarily to support the UKCS, maritime, subsea and renewables industries.

Existing Operations Manager Stewart Groves and the company’s UK Sales Manager Jamie Lynch will be based in Aberdeen, leading the business locally.

Hendrik Veder Group has been providing tailor-made services to the lifting and shipping industry since 1800 and is certified across the Group to ISO 9001:2015 and type-approved manufacturers of DNVGL-ST-E271 and DNVGL-ST-E273. The firm focuses on the production of single-laid, cable-laid and grommet slings; sales of steel wire & fibre ropes and other lifting & towing materials. Related services include proof load testing, inspection and installation.
