Freight Management Logistics, LLC, (FML), a leader in moving steel, nonferrous, breakbulk, project, and bulk cargo, has recently launched a subsidiary company, FML Warehousing and Logistics Services, LLC (FML Warehousing & Logistics) and commenced the operation of a new warehouse facility in Houston to serve the Port of Houston and surrounding areas.
With 140,000 square feet of warehouse and 10 acres of open laydown area, FML Warehousing & Logistics provides general commodities warehousing, a Container Freight Station, rail transloading, bulk transfer and bagging, local and regional trucking, container drayage, and freight consolidation. The new state-of-the-art warehouse is positioned to service steel, metals, lumber, project cargo, paper, cotton, general cargo, and free flowing bulk. It is rail-served by the PTRA Railroad, which does the switching for both Union Pacific and the BNSF railroads, and provides service to the Kansas City Southern Railroad for any freight that originates in or is going to Mexico. The warehouse is able to receive bulk material by rail and has a dual line bagging plant for super bags.
FML is also an asset-based common carrier operating and offering flatbed truck services throughout the continental U.S., Canada and Mexico. FML’s fleet of trucks can provide local and regional deliveries and provide in-house container drayage.
“FML was incorporated with the clear intent to provide enhanced integrated logistics management services to our clients. Offering asset-based warehousing solutions has been a long-term goal of ours and we are so pleased to now be able to provide best-in-class warehousing and logistics services through our new subsidiary, FML Warehousing & Logistics,” said Dennis Svilar, CEO of FML. “We are thrilled to establish a Houston presence and to be able to support 30 full-time family wage jobs at our new warehousing facility. We look forward to growing our warehouse business and adding more jobs in the future.”
